Jambo, from the sandy beaches of Mombasa and peaks of Mount Kenya to the home of Hakuna Matata, Kenya to all delegates, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors
Once again, we are gathered together to discuss scientific matters influencing laboratory medicine on the African continent. On behalf of the Congress Organizing Committee, I welcome all our colleagues from across the globe to this conference. An interesting and intensive scientific program has been prepared by the Scientific Committee, which includes a 6-hour session hosted by the Young Scientists. In particular, I would also like to thank the IFCC, EFLM, ADLM, and SAACB for supporting this conference.
For the first time, we have a session on International Collaboration in which we have CAHO from India, EFLM, ADLM, and colleagues from Germany who will discuss how we can collaborate in advancing laboratory medicine and Diagnostics in Africa.
We would also like to welcome UNIVANTS, an organization dedicated to fostering teamwork and collaboration between all pillars of patient care and the Kenyan Association of Clinical Pathologists (KACP), the latter being the premier association of Clinical Pathologists in Kenya
I would also like us to remember Professor Mabel Charles-Davies, the immediate past president of AFCC, who recently passed away. Professor Charles-Davies was passionate about Africa, and along with Professor Jocelyn Hicks played a critical role in establishing AFCC.

On behalf of the African Federation of Clinical Chemistry―AFCC, it is my great honor and privilege to warmly invite you to the 8TH AFCC Regional Congress, to be held on July 16–17, 2026, at the Nairobi Hospital Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
This year’s Congress is guided by the timely and impactful theme: “Contemporary Interests and Innovations in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine: Bridging Precision Diagnostics, Public Health, and Patient Care.”
Africa is at a pivotal moment in the advancement of laboratory medicine. Our Congress will serve as a vibrant platform for clinical laboratory scientists, researchers and clinicians, public health experts to come together, share knowledge, and forge lasting collaborations. We aim to bridge the gap between cutting-edge diagnostics and the real-world challenges faced in resource-limited settings across our continent. We are also pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts is now open. I encourage you to submit your research and share your insights with colleagues from across Africa and beyond. Abstract submission will be closed May 31, 2026, with notifications of acceptance sent by June 1, 2026.
